Happy Halloween

Vinny had a good Halloween. He started out in his Imagination Movers costume and ended up a skeleton.

After trick or treating at Grandma and Grandpa's house, we met Dawn, Brian, Eli and Kai at the mall to trick or treat.

Then we went over to Bona and Grandpa's where Vinny went trick or treating with Kayla I know it isn't a great picture, but they were very cute together!
He had a great time!!!

Skating

About a month ago, Dawn, Alison and I took the boys roller skating, (there are pictures in a previous post.) The owner of the rink loved the boys out there skating and took pictures. They asked if they could put them up on the website of the rink. We of course said yes. To our suprise, they are right on the front page of the website.

Things have been crazy around our house. Between Vinny and I being sick (swine flu and now I have bronchitis) and me working full time again, we have been a busy bunch. My schedule changes everyday, and I usually either get off of work at 5 or at 7:15, which makes for a short evening. We have been trying to keep the TV off, and be sure to do family things every night.

We tried to carve pumpkins lasat week. Vinny said it was "icky" and wasn't interested at all. So, we saved our pumpkins and are going to try again tonight.
Puzzles have become a big thing in our house lately. Vinny can do a 48 piece puzzle by himself without any help. This Mickey one is his favorite. It truley amazes me how he is able to figure them out. I was reading a child development book last night, and it said that by the 3rd birthday, a child should be able to put together a 3-4 piece puzzle... Vinny would be so bored with that. We have been trying to a different puzzle everynight. He does it, takes it apart and does it again, and wants to do another.

Last weekend we took the family to Willis Tucker dog park. Vinny, Jake and Lucy all had a blast!
On Saturday night, Vinny went to Dan and Linda's while we went to the hockey game. He stayed the night, which gave us a nice quiet night at home.

We decorated Halloween cookies, while we were there.

Tasting sprinkles.
All in all it has been a good couple of weeks. It has been a huge adjustment for all of us, having me go back to work. But, Vinny still loves his daycare, and so far, I am loving my new job, so its all turning out ok.

Pumpkins for Literacy

On the way home from the 1st pumpkin patch, I decided that we should go and support the Rotary Pumpkin for Literacy Pumpkin Patch at Smokey Point Plant farm. Vinny really enjoyed this one!!! He loved it last year too...
Vinny in the bouncy house.
(Remember how many pumpkins are in this field, so when I explain something later, you will understand.)Dawn working hard!
Vinny as a ghost.
Time for a train ride!

So remember that picture with all the pumpkins? This is the one that Vinny picked. Go figure! We walked around for a good 15 minutes while he looked at all of them and either said that "that one too big" or "that one icky" or "that one too bumpy." The he yelled "Look Mom!" and grabbed that one. So, that is his pumpkin. The funny thing about it is that they have a whole section of those little pumpkins that he wasn't at all interested in. This one just happened to be out of place and he had to have it.
After we paid (They gave him his little pumpkin for free (Thank you!!!)) He set it down so he could play in the rocks. Notice how he placed a couple of rocks down so that he could put his pumpkin on a little pedistol. My kid is so strange sometimes.
Had to ride the tractors on the way out. (That is my pumpkin sitting next to his.)

Foster's Farm in Arlington

Since I was off work today, I decided to take Vinny to the pumpkin patch. We went to Foster's Farm in Arlington. Vinny loved the animals, but wasn't interested in the pumpkins at all, so we didn't end up getting one. He kept wanting to go the "strawberries" instead. Who knows what he was talking about :)

This goat is up on the 2nd story of a building. When you fill his cup with grain, he pulls the rope and brings it up to eat. Vinny thought it was great!

"Look Mom, Chickens!"

Vinny thought that he "loves Vinny." He didn't understand that he just wanted Vinny to feed him another carrot.

Vinny kept insisting on being a sheep and a horse, even though they were the tallest ones.

Road Trip!

On Saturday we took the family and went on a drive through the Cascade Loop. It was a long drive, but it was fun to see all the leaves changing colors and just have no adgenda in mind. We just stopped where we wanted to let the pups out, and let Vinny play and would get back on our way. We got a 25 lb box of apples. Yum!
Our last stop was in Leavenworth. It was Octoberfest so they had a bunch of bouncy houses and slides set up. It was a perfect place for Vinny to burn some energy!

Poor guy looks scared for his life... yet, he still kept going back!!!

New Baby Hemrich!

No, I am not pregnant... but Tania is!!! Here is a picture of baby-to-be. Joe and Tania are due in April. Can't wait to find out what it will be! I checked the Chinese Baby Gender Chart and it says boy, which is what they really want, so we are hopeful!

At the good ol' Hockey Game...

We took Vinny to his 1st Tips game of the season... He won't be seeing very many more this year :/ We let him go down to the 1st row before the game and so he wanted to go down there the whole time. He LOVED the game and was super excited for about the first 10 minutes and then threw a fit. So... 1/2 way through the 1st period he and I went for a walk... 1st intermission he went down and watched. 2nd period we went up and walked again. He threw a huge fit because he wanted chocolate covered strawberries. Until... he saw this hockey net set up. He was in heaven... He played goalie and was hitting his puck and screaming "Goal!!!" Other kids were stopping to play with him too. It was fun to watch.
2nd intermission, we went down again so that he could "chicken dance" He did pretty well. When we told him it was time to go back to his seats, he threw another fit. So... he and I left. We walked to the car, and drove around until the game was over.
So, basically, I saw about 5 minutes of the game last night. That will teach me to take a tired 2 1/2 year old to a hockey game, I guess.

Could it be? Could he really be potty trained?

Well, not completely, but very close. He tells us now when he has to go, or will hold it until we tell him we have to go. Accidents are very rare now. He is so proud of himself. We are very proud too.
Funny thing... Tony told him that it was ok to pee outside. So a few times now he has told me that "Vinny went potty" and when I ask him where, he brings me to the slider to show me that he peed outside. Now we just have to break that habit...

So, it finally happened....

I got a job!!! Yay!!! I will be the Assistant Branch Manager of Cascade Bank in Lake Stevens. I start on Monday. It took me 3 interviews, and a couple of weeks of waiting, but they called me on Friday and offered me the position.
We are so excited. It only took me 3 1/2 months to find a job.
I did enjoy being off, and spending time with Vinny, but I knew that it had to come to an end. I'll be sure to post soon to let you know how it is.

Happy 7th Birthday, Nadia!!!

Yesterday was Nadia's birthday party. It was such a fun party. Tania did a great job on decorations and everything.

Time for cake!
